A bloody great cup of tea is as good a reason as any to bring people together and that is why we love the stuff. Our business adventure began with four friends around a kitchen table with not much in common except the desire to connect the broader community with the joy of tea.
Tea has been uniting people ever since it was first discovered in approximately 2737 BC by the Chinese emperor Shen Nung and has since spread across the world to be enjoyed and adapted by each community which it has touched.
While most people drink tea, location plays a big role in determining what is the ‘norm’. For example, if you ask for a cup of tea in England you will probably be given something originating from the Black tea family which is then served with milk and sugar (and a scone if you are lucky). In contrast, if you were to ask the same question in Japan you would receive a steaming Green tea, while in Morocco you would be treated with Morrocan Mint tea.
In the past different styles of tea could be difficult to get your hands on due to climate, elevation and geography being fundamental to flavour and the success of the plant.
Our aim is to please everyone, so whether you originally came to our site in search of your favourites, countless health benefits or you are fresh to tea altogether, why not try something different? You are never too young or too old (we hope) to try something new!
"If you are cold, tea will warm you; if you are too heated, it will cool you; if you are depressed, it will cheer you; if you are excited, it will calm you." -William Ewart Gladstone
Until next time, happy brewing.
